Hem details are crafted from a wool-nylon blend ribbing. Era-authentic details include a 1960s pull front zipper and a rhombus link pocket zip in a nickel-plated finish. The defining feature of this garment is the cape shoulder, also known as a cup shoulder.

Branded as a ‘Varsity Jacket’, the origins of this style trace back to leisure wear that was popular on the 1960s West Coast, particularly in San Francisco where it remains a cult favourite. Worn by movie stars like Paul Newman and James Coburn off-screen in the 60s, the simple and casual nature of the jacket endured and would remain a staple garment throughout the 70s and 80s when it became associated with hip-hop and skate scenes. It was famously worn by hip-hop artists M.C. Ren and Eazy E.
